La carta Varese

in previous post I had pointed to the paper Varese.

Its production was born in Bassano del Grappa in the seventeenth century thanks to

House Remondini, active from 1660 to 1860.

Remondini founder was Giovanni Antonio, who began to print books of devotion,

of folk tales and images of saints.

During the period of greatest activity, the company had more than one thousand workers Remondini ,

18 characters and 24 presses for intaglio printing presses to copper.

Between 1859 and 1860, are separated and sold various products

in Bassano, Venice and Varese.

and, in collaboration with the Museo Civico di Bassano del Grappa,

the famous Dolce Varese, wrapped in a sheet with the reason for the lily.
